Outside of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s downtown Phoenix office, several activist groups gathered in the streets to protest and participate in peaceful civil disobedience.
The groups ranged from the national Answer Coalition, the Puente movement and the National Day Labor Organizing Network to various local religious organizations.
When asked why they are still protesting in the wake of Judge Bolton’s ruling on SB 1070, NDLON’s Legal Director Chris Newman says, “this fight didn’t begin with 1070 and it didn’t end with the Judge’s ruling. The injustice continues.”

That’s exactly what I was going to say, nono. To answer pacinoismygod, I really don’t know. I’m adopted. I have no idea of my family, past, or anything else. Therefore, I have only ONE designation and only ONE country! I am not a hypen-anything. I AM TOTALLY, 100% AMERICAN!
You are not making the distinction between Immigrants and Aliens. THAT is the matter at hand. There are TWO distinctions…Legal Immigrants and Illegal Aliens. One is not the other; the other is not the one.
One has followed the rules and the law, and hs been invited into America to work and live. This is the LEGAL IMMIGRANT.
The other has the gall to come into this country, and has NOT been invited into America to work and live. This is the ILLEGAL ALIEN.
This is NOT about Immigration…this is about ILLEGAL ALIENS. We need to overhaul Immigration, but that does NOT include Illegal Aliens.
