In classic New York fashion that resembled more of a street brawl over a parking space than 9/11 aid for first responders, NY Rep. Peter King (R) actually stood arm-and-arm next to NY Rep. Anthony Weiner (D) and had a verbal fight-fest. Weiner slamming Republicans for refusing to vote positively and King saying it was all about the Dems voting strategy?! What Weiner the Whiner is not saying, is what pork, what waste is in this bill. It is just like the War Bill, full of bailouts and crap that has no business being in this bill! 9/11 responders deserve to be taken care of, they are heros, make this bill about them, and them only! Illegals should not be in it!!! They cost tax payers enough money, deport!

Shame on the Dems for wanting a 2/3 vote and shame on the Reps for not passing it anyway. The 1st responders are DESPERATE for medical aid. Let then have it. I hate it when ppl talk over ea other and poor Bill couldn’t squeeze a word in.

What is in the bill in addition to helping the 9/11 responders with medical bills? I also believe the firemen and policemen have medical coverage under the workmans comp insurance. I want to know just WHAT ELSE is in the bill…

I would love to see all jails across this country like Joe Apaios Bobs Ladie! We could save millions on crime and illegals care. The trouble with dem bills is always the same, hide in pork for illegalls, entitlements, or unions, or just some little law that takes more money and rights from we, the taxpayers! We need an amendment for the people! Congress cannot pass any bill that takes rights or money from legal tax paying citizens, without us voting on it!

Why didn’t Bill Hemmer give the republican equal time. The loud mouth dem kept interrupting. Bill lost control and was not fair and balanced.

They need to CUT the funding to MEXICO and apply that money to the 9-11 Aid Bill. If the money has to be added to the deficit, then no bills to spend spend spend should be passed. This government is out of control. Cut the pork, cut the foreign aid, and cut all funding programs that are frivilous. The federal gov’t sueing AZ is another waste of time and money. Either the fed’l gov’t does its job, or lets local law enforcement do theirs. Obviously Federal gov’t is NOT protecting the citizens of the USA from foreign attack (killings and injuries done to Americans and law enforcement)

Did they insist on the 2/3 vote because they wanted to “trick” the Reps into voting for another spending spree with pork in it?
There is something here not being told. The Dems could pass this without the Reps. So, why the 2/3 vote? That’s just idiotic. It has to be that they were trying to trick the Reps so they could say at voting “well, the Reps voted for spending, too, so you can’t come down on us any more.”
Or something else. Whatever it was, Weiner has a telephone, and the addresses. Why didn’t HE go to other Reps to get the vote? Why is he mad at King for not doing it? He’s perfectly able to do it himself.

I am not sure Azalea, but I think King voted for the bill. The Dems made it necessary for a 2/3s vote and something about this process made it so the Repubs couldn’t make any amendments to the bill. There is something more we are not being told. I have words for this and it isn’t priceless. Why does Abbot and Costello come to mind?

I think, that when a bill comes up for a vote, it is a simple majority…
But when things start getting paper-clipped to the bill, the vote turns into a 2/3 vote…
I believe ‘Paperclipped’ to this bill were aid packages and spending bills that the Dems, through the cover of the heroes of 911, thought they could count on everyone to vote for the bill…

Weiner acted like an azz, what a shameful display. To lower yourself in that manner to get attention is disgraceful. I am glad it failed, the Dems using 911 for other spending is demeaning to the 911 sufferers.
